Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a gentle, hands-on therapy that helps reduce pain and restore movement by working with the body’s connective tissue, called fascia. Fascia is a web-like system that runs throughout your entire body, surrounding and infusing muscles, bones, nerves, and organs. When it’s healthy, it’s flexible and allows you to move freely. But injury, inflammation, surgery, or repetitive stress can cause fascia to tighten and lose its elasticity. When this happens, it can create pressure, restrict movement, and lead to pain, sometimes in areas that seem unrelated to the original issue. Over time, these restrictions can develop into complex conditions like fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue.

Myofascial release uses gentle, sustained pressure to help soften and stretch these tight areas, allowing the body to move more freely and reducing pain. This approach, developed by John F. Barnes, is safe, effective, and focused on lasting results. Treatment session are typically 60-90 minutes and are tailored to your individual needs. All sessions are one-on-one and hands-on to ensure personalized care.

When your fascia dehydrates and stiffens, it restricts “flow” throughout your body. This can impact arterial supply, venous return. lymphatic drainage, and nerve conduction. Inelastic fascia also restricts movement, creating inflammation that leads to pain and fatigue. Myofascial release can restore normal fascia mobility and alleviate your symptoms.
